The Grand Falls-Windsor Cataracts continue to hold down 1st place in the Central West Senior Hockey League following a pair of weekend wins in Gander. Nicklas Lindstrom scored the winning goal in Overtime Saturday night to give the Cats a 3-2 win over the Flyers. Andrew Brennan and Mike Brent also scored for the Cataracts with Cam Fergus and Rodi Short adding a pair of assists each.
On Sunday the Cataracts scored 5 times in the 2nd period on their way to a 6-2 victory. Danny Wicks had a 4 point game with a pair of goals and two helpers. Rodi Short had 2 goals with singles coming from Andrew Brennan and Michael Cole.
Up next for the Cataracts will be a pair of home games this weekend against the 2nd place Corner Brook Royals. This will be the 1st meeting between the league’s two top teams this season.
Holding Seat Tickets for this weekend will go on sale tonight (Monday) and Tuesday evenings from 7-9 at the Joe Byrne Box Office. Tickets will be available for sale to the General Public starting noon Thursday from Bride’s Snack Bar and Grants Sports Excellence.

CATARACTS MOVE INTO 1ST PLACE
The Grand Falls Windsor Cataracts find themselves atop the standings of the West Coast Senior Hockey league this morning following a sweep of the Clarenville Caribous in Clarenville this weekend. The Cataracts took Saturday night's game 4-3. Danny Wicks had a 3 point night picking up a goal and two assists. Brandon Bussey, Luke Gallant and Cam Fergus also scored for the Cats. Sunday afternoon was another close game with the Cataracts coming out ahead 4-2. Captain Mike Brent led the Cataracts with a pair of goals. Luke Gallant added a goal and two assists while Danny Wicks chipped in with a solo marker. This coming weekend the Cataracts will host the Gander Flyers for a pair of games Saturday night and Sunday afternoon at the Joe Byrne Memorial Stadium.

Tickets for the Cataracts home games this coming weekend against the Clarenville Caribous can be purchased Monday and Tuesday, November 2nd and 3rd. The Joe Byrne Memorial Stadium Box Offie will be open from 7-9pm each evening for those with Holding Seats. After that they will go on sale to the General Public.
